Attorney Cathy Compton Joins the Team
I am pleased to announce that Attorney Cathy Compton as agreed to be of
counsel to our firm effective January 1, 2014. Some of you may have already
meet her. Of counsel means that Cathy who as her own office but will regularly
work with our firm on cases and often be in the office assisting clients.
Cathy is an incredible asset. Cathy has been an attorney for over 20 years
and has extensive criminal and immigration law experience. I got the chance
to work with Cathy on a daily basis in the Hays County DA's office.
Cathy and I have tried many cases in court together and are a tough team
to beat. Cathy is perfectly fluent in and comfortable in Spanish.
Here is a little information about Cathy. She is a native Texan, grew up
in both Texas and Louisiana, and has traveled and lived in Mexico. A graduate
of Loyola Law School, she was first licensed in California and began her
career as an immigration attorney in Los Angeles, working with clients
from all over the world. She was licensed in Texas in 19997 and has worked
as a defense attorney and an Assistant District Attorney.
She is the former Family Justice Division Chief for the Hays County District
Attorney's Office, where she managed a small division of elite attorneys,
training and serving as a mentor to the most promising lawyers in the
office. She has been invited to be a speaker at many conferences in the
U.S. and abroad.
Some fun facts; she is an artist and has had her work exhibited in San
Antonio, and she co-founded the Alamo City Rolergirls LLC, a successful
company and professional roller derby team.
Cathy will bring to our firm her commitment and considerable legal talents.
Our firm will be stronger.
